24-hours Supported Living for 16+

Developing & Enhancing Your Independent Living Skills

Golden Aura Care is a social work-led provider offering supported accommodation for individuals aged 16 and over, complete with round-the-clock 24 hours support. We provide a secure setting where young people can cultivate and advance their independent living skills during their transition to adulthood. Our guiding principles and methodology are rooted in the principle of enablement, which forms the foundation of our overarching aim: to empower young individuals to realize and reach their full potential and to partake in activities that enhance their health and well-being.


Our service provides young people with bespoke support that is tailored to their needs, including:


  • Support in accessing education, employment, and training opportunities
  • Assistance with Accessing Health Services
  • Support in learning how to budget
  • Help with social skills
  • Preparation for adult life


We provide housing and support for the following children and young people: 


  • We care for looked After Children and Care leavers aged 16 to 24 years 
  • Unaccompanied children and young people aged 16 to 18 years 


Welcome Pack


Every young individual will be provided with a welcome pack containing all the essential items needed, assuming they arrive without any belongings. This includes toiletries, toothpaste, a toothbrush, medium-sized clothing, socks, and a weekly food allowance, among other necessities..


Our service is provided in a person-centered manner, empowering young individuals to realize their full potential while preserving their autonomy. It is conducted with the utmost respect for and protection of each person's privacy and dignity. 


Our goal is to create an environment where children and young people feel safe, cherished, and secure, enabling them to flourish and reach their greatest potential. We advocate for individuals to have the utmost choice and control over their lives, and our staff is committed to assisting you in the most unobtrusive manner possible.   


Developmental Pathway


Our team evaluates and records all facets of a young person's daily life to determine their independence level and identify areas needing development support. Our staff regularly consults with our on-site Independent Social Worker to determine the most effective way to tailor the support package, enhancing engagement with the young individuals. 


 We use below resources depending on the young persons need and preferences

Our care team is specialized in mental health, learning disabilities, complex trauma, dual diagnosis, and other intricate cases. We adopt a person-centered approach, ensuring that our support and care are tailored to the distinct needs, preferences, and goals of each individual. We offer support to young people across a broad spectrum of conditions. 


Key Working Sessions


Key-working sessions assist young individuals in developing skills in areas needing additional support until they reach a safe level of independence. Subsequently, these young people can be guided through the transition to their own accommodation.

Services Criteria:

All services offered are based on an assessment of the young person’s multiple needs which may include:


  • Autistic spectrum disorder
  • Attention deficit disorder
  • Drug and alcohol issues
  • Anger management issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Self-harm
  •  Mental health (either diagnosed or undiagnosed)
  • Learning disability (either diagnosed or undiagnosed)
  • Domestic abuse issues
  • Offending issues
  • Child exploitation issues
  • Emotional and behavioural issues 
  • Gang involvement
  • Criminal behaviour
  • Challenging behaviour
  • Low level sexualized behaviour
  • Attachment disorders

 

24-hours Supported Accommodation

The semi-independent house operates with 24-hour staffing. The level of support offered is adjustable, increasing or decreasing as necessary, in coordination with the placing authority to accommodate individual requirements.


We support and enable young people to do the following;


  • Do their own shopping, cleaning and cooking 
  • Signposting young people to employment, educational and training  opportunities 
  • We support UASC to access services and practical help to progress asylum claims 
  • Advice young people on how to fulfil other responsibilities inherent in a tenancy or owner-occupation 
  •  Offer guidance to young individuals on maintaining their living spaces in a warm, safe, secure, and comfortable manner 
  • Assist young individuals in claiming suitable benefits and maximizing their income.
  • Bill payments, banking, savings and money management
  • Securing independent accommodation and establishing a tenancy agreement
  • Assistance with attending a legal appointment concerning criminal matters.
  • Support with navigating the immigration system and attending Home Office Appointment
