• All gas certifications for the property are up to date.
• All carbon monoxide detectors are operational and current, provided they are not integrated within the fire alarms.
• Certification for all relevant electrical items within the property is required.
• All properties are ensured to be safe and secure, equipped with appropriate locks that are suitable for each property.
• Assessment of Risks from Hot Water and Scalding
• Insurance for buildings that is appropriate for the type of accommodation.
• Insulation suitable to property type
• Every appliance has undergone PAT testing.
• All carpets and flooring are of high quality and are properly fitted with the appropriate underlay when necessary.
• Utensils and bedding are provided as needed.
• Every piece of furniture is both fire-resistant and brand new.

We want unaccompanied children and young people to lead a happy, healthy and safe lives. We provide holistic packages of support that improve their physical health, mental health and offer help with their welfare and practical issues such as a place to live, access to education or employment or access to positive activities such as football. We work with Reading's Refugee football team.  (Sanctuary Strikers Football Club) The club aims to promote integration by bringing together  refugees and non-refugees to play football in the spirit of unity.
